I am starting off this week with a book giveaway by Fish Book Co.!
Today I Am is the Southeast Asian English version of the award-winning Dutch children’s book “Vrolijk” by Mies Van Hout. First published in June 2011 in the Netherlands, “Vrolijk” has since garnered numerous accolades, including being nominated for the prestigious Deutscher Jugendliteraturpreis (German Children’s Literature Award) 2013.
The book introduces 20 different emotions, and is unique in that it features vibrantly coloured fishes on a black background. Each double page spread is devoted to one fish showing a particular emotion, along with its name in lettering that expresses the same feeling.
Given that the book covers emotions that all of us, including children, feel, the book is a resource that parents can use to help kids learn about their emotions, increase their awareness about them, and learn the vocabulary to express how they feel. The versatility of the book makes it suitable for children anywhere from aged 2 to 10. You can purchase the book from its website, or at major bookstores.
