Before I talk more about the changes on the site, I would like you to join me in taking a look back at some of this blog's past headers. It was a walk down memory lane for me looking at these photo-based headers - the style I kept for a few years. I'm still font crazy, but choosing new ones each week is no longer feasible!
It dawned on me that I used to do these things a lot more: travel, dine out, take photos of my food, notice beautiful things and good design around me, and photograph (almost) everything. Looking at these photos, I remember taking time to soak in the surroundings of wherever I was, and tucking them away as memories via photographs. I could take time to eat, and go for random outings with a camera on hand.
My life is so different today, with my children (and thoughts of them) demanding so much of my time, attention and energy. Still, I am thankful, and glad for these memories.
If you have been a long time reader, which header do you remember?
If you are a new reader, which header below speaks to you?

The last picture speaks to me most - coz that's the imagery of "a dollop" that comes to mind whenever I read your blog name.
love those headers...
Amazing collection.
(and also love the irony of a dollop of thunder thighs! Haha)
totally agree with the used to bit vs reality today.
Hi Corsage,
I'm impressed to see so many headers that you have designed for your blog previously, and all of them look so nice.
The recent one looks best among all. It's simple, pleasant to the eyes and able to bring out the personality of your blog.
Well done! Love it! :)
i like the broken pieces of pottery, i like the writing in the sand, i like the sunset, i like the wine glasses.
thanks for creating these works of beauty...
Nice new look. I especially love the larger font...easier on my aging eyes! That's quite an impressive collection of headers, but my favourite is the one with Bubbles' lower half :)

I had to scroll all the way down to take a look again! You are absolutely right about that dollop (of kaya). It was this image that made it so difficult for me to design a header/logo of sorts that wouldn't end up looking like a blob-by mess! Hence the dotted circle :)
Nerdymum:
Gotta love those thighs! There were actually more headers but I thought those were enough as a showcase :) About the reality bit, hey at least you got to travel sans bubs for one trip!!
Emily:
Thanks for the compliments! The old headers were just photos so they took a lot less work to put together.

Thanks for highlighting those you like. The broken pieces of pottery photo was taken in Shanghai. One of the memorable trips we took as a couple before the kids came along!

Aging eyes! That must be why I prefer this font/size too ;) Re Bubs' thighs - they were really nom nom nom!
Love the whole look. Woah. A trip down the memory lane for me too! Is it the sixth header? the one of the rocking chair, bay window and brown cushions. I like that one best of all. :)))
How cool! I love that you have different fonts for each photo. I love typography! I like the photo of the birdcages! The night view is beautiful.
I love your new interface! Has my favourite colour green! Such happy colours! I didnt realise you have such a collection of headers! I love the last one with the nonya kueh! Speaks peranakan to me which I can relate! :)
you made so many headers over the years! great to actually keep and look back on.. thanks for the tip :)

Wow, you do have a large collection of headers. Actually the currently speaks to me most, although some of the previous ones can be more visually appealing.
It's amazing that you've created so many headers for your blog over the years! I guess each header/photo speaks of a different season of your life?
I like your latest header. Each of the 3 photos is a clear representation of the 3 focus of your blog. Simple, yet speaks volume. Green is very soothing and calming too!
So many headers! I am impressed. It's nice to see you incorporating a bit of design in your new header. I like the green flags that explain the different roles you play.

That rocking chair was from a freecycler! Had to give it away because of space constraints :(
Chuzai Living:
I did go a little crazy at one time with fonts! The bird cage lights are beautiful aren't they?
leney:
I love that kueh! Forgot what it is called. Colours are so brilliant!
Ai Sakura:
Oops I have to admit I didn't consciously keep them properly. Stumbled upon an old file and tada :) But yes it is perhaps a good idea to file for memories!
sophiastory:
Yes, I decided that I wanted something to reflect what the blog is about, and showcase photographs elsewhere! :) But it did take a whole lot more effort then just putting up selected photos like before!
Ing:
Thank you! I took a while to figure out the shades of colours that I liked! Colour preferences have changed over time for me. I guess these yellows and teals (with a touch of red) are me for now!
Jasmine:
Thank you! Yup, I felt it was time to do a proper design. Was tempted to pay a professional designer but decided that now is not yet the time for that!
Love the new header! And you really have so many headers that you designed for your blog. Memorable collection indeed!
That's a lot of headers. Really like them all. I'm a header changer too. I change mine lately almost on a monthly basis and will probably continue to do so. I like your current header. Very interesting to the eye and different.
