Bubbles Cheer and her Presidential Elections Prediction

Phew. I just went through about a week of crazy work days. And when it rains, it sometimes POURS!

My part-time cleaner decided last week to stop working for us! Just when I got everything down pat in our weekly schedule. It was really bad timing on her part as she also absented herself the previous week. You can just imagine the backlog of chores that need to be done. I am not upset with her leaving to choose easier work, but disappointed that she didn't keep her word to give me time to source for alternative cleaners.

Looking on the happier side of things, I would like to share some of the funny, heartwarming (some cheeky) stuff that my dear Bubs has been saying. She definitely is one talkative kid! I have already tweeted some of these, in case you find them familiar. Hope you enjoy reading these as much as I enjoyed them!

The Presidential Elections
My mother: Bubbles, who do you think will win? Tan Cheng Bock or Tony Tan?
Bubbles: Tony Tan!
and then: I want Tony Tan to come to my birthday party!

In the car
Daddy is Big!
Bubbles is Small!
Mummy is Woman!

At church
She's talking really loudly.
Me: Bubbles, can you talk SOFTly please?
Bubs: No! (Thinking) I want to talk HARD(ly)!

Talking to her aunt
Bubs: I went to the petrol station!
Aunt: You did?
Bubs: Yes! Then the car went there, then the petrol pump pump pump!
Aunt: Oh I see, did you pump the petrol?
Bubs: Err no.
Aunt: Then what did you do?
Bubs: I was just standing there.

After an overnighter at my parents' place
Bubs: Bubbles missed Mummy!
Me: Aww, I missed you too!
Bubs: Bubbles love Mummy! I don't want Mummy work! I want to take Mummy's office away!

Seeing a plaster on my toe
Bubs (looking concerned): Mummy what is that?
Me: Oh, it is a plaster. My toe hurts from too much standing.
Bubs: Mummy's toe painful?
Me: Yes it is.
Bubs: Bubbles pray Mummy's toe ok.

Eating her snacks
Bubs (holding up a piece): Mummy, would you like some?
Me: Ok! (taking the piece)
Bubs: Not too much Mummy!

Kicking Daddy's seat in the car
Roboman: Bubbles, please don't kick the seat!
Bubs: I want to kick seat!
kick.kick.kick
I turn to give her a stern look.
She immediately changes her kicks to smooth stroking motions.
Bubs: I'm just dusting the seat!

Seriously so funny! I should have a list of the funny things that Sophie says too.

Oh dear... hope you managed to find another part-time cleaner? Hang in there ok, it must be really disorienting, especially with things so busy at work!

And Bubbles really cracks me up, esp the one about speaking "hardly!"

I love your post. It's heartwarming and enlightening. Keep it coming.
I hope my son can talk like yours soon :)

LOL! But I soon have to think of disciplinary methods that work I think! She's too quick/cheeky for me at times!

Susan:
Yes I'm sure Sophie cracks you up too! They are so naturally funny at this stage :)

MamaJ:
I'm still searching/making arrangements. Thankfully got some recommendations. And yes am still coming out of my disorientation! And haha, yes I took a while to understand why she said 'Hard' before I realised it is the opposite of 'Soft'! LOL

Cynthia:
Thank you :) It puts a smile on my face to recall all these conversations. I'm sure when your son starts talking like that - you will be laughing lots too!

Her remarks are so funny...she is a real smart tot.

I know of a part time help that can work on Sunday mornings. She is fast and good at her work. She used to work for me for more than 4 years...Let me know if u want to get in touch with her.

Bubbles is so funny and adorable. A very endearing little girl too. :)

Hope you manage to find another helper soon.

We call her 'cheeky monkey' all the time!

Anya's mom:
Aww you're welcome! I'm also recording it so I don't forgot :)

Leney:
They certainly do! I have never laughed so much in my life! She has really brought so much laughter to our household :)

Rachel:
Oh thanks so much for sharing. I may get in touch with you. I've contacted 2 agencies (recommended by others) and both haven't gotten back to me :( Seems like there's a crunch now for PT cleaners!

Jacinta:
She is! Really makes us all laugh :)

Ing:
Aww thank you. Yes, she does endear herself to us very much, but we know we're biased too! Am hoping I find a helper soon too. Have been doing so much more housework while ignoring piles of unironed clothes for now. I would probably need to get to them soon as I'm running out of stuff to wear :(

she's adorable! so funny! when kai was born, i wanted to keep a book to keep track of the things he says... needless to say, that didn't happen... yours is a much better way!

She's so cute! Love the exchanges! It reminds me that I should be more diligent in writing down what the kids say. they are growing up too quickly and these funny things fade from memory, which is a pity.

Cote-p:
It is tough to keep track, isn't it! Just too much to do. Writing these helps force me to remember and record, but I'm missing out lots still.

BeanBean:
They do say such funny things, don't they? Sometimes I just love sitting down to converse with her and laughing away (either out loud or to myself). Yes, I realise that although the Bub is not even 2, there are already many things I don't remember from a year ago! It is a real pity and would you believe that I sometimes feel guilt from it. But I remind myself to enjoy the moment - after all it really doesn't matter (in the larger scheme of things) whether or not we remember every single funny/loving event of their lives. That's what I tell myself anyway! hee
