Thankfully the weather was beautiful this morning!
Bubbles was true to her pick-up-anything-that-looks-like-a-ball self. She excitedly picked up and presented to us a small coconut(?) the moment we set foot on the beach.
I was lamenting that we didn't have any beach toys for her but my concerns proved to be unfounded. On the sand, she delightfully went into her 'zone' - a recent ability to be totally engrossed in doing something. She sat barefoot on the beach, digging and throwing sand around with all her might. At one point I thought she was intent on covering herself with sand. She giggled, babbled, waved sandy hands into the air, put sand on her head and face, and tasted its gritty saltiness. I watched her like a hawk to make sure she didn't bite into any shells (she tried to).
Sand got everywhere. She truly had a blast!
She also confirmed my suspicions that she loves to be barefoot, taking off without her shoes to roam around happily after the sand play.
My little one is no gu niang.

Oooo, she really looks like she had a lot of fun. You should consider bringing her for a beach holiday. Phuket, Bali or Bintan perhaps?
Oh Tabby loves sand too!! :D Except that she prefers Phuket Sand to Sentosa sand. Phuket sand was softer of course! She just kept jumping ard in Sentosa cos she was unhappy with the coarse sand. :P
Have you tried here?

We love to bring Tabby there cos she can play with sand, and there's a small swing for toddlers!
Interesting that she has no fear of sand initially!
you're the 3rd person I've read today blogging about a trip to the beach *so jealous*!! It's been freezing this whole week, cold like winter again and poor little man and I are sick =(

Ooh yes! I would love a beach holiday. Have to plan plan plan though! No time this year :(

Wahahaha - prefers Phuket sand! Bubbles didn't seem to mind any sand! Coarse, fine, wet, dry! She obviously hasn't tried the Phuket type though! LOL. Thanks for sharing the link! I've not been there but the playgrounds at West Coast Park look similar (although much older)

Yah! She had no qualms stomping all over after the initial curiousness about the feel. She did that on grass and gravel too! LOL
