Being Married

Today was a typical one, where Roboman and I met up after work for dinner.

We did a spot of shopping for necessities, and some sewing supplies. He helped me choose fabric, and pick up things that are too high up for me to reach; I followed him to peek in a new audio equipment shop. As we strolled around the mall, we held hands as we usually do.

We ordered our food, and said grace together. Chatting through our Carl's Jr meal, we talked about our day, people in our lives, and how the chips we were eating were real because they had their skins on. We wondered aloud about McDonalds managing to make their reconstituted fries taste so good. We exchanged views about various issues, and I sought comfort in his words.

As we lounged around back at home, I found myself telling him how I really looked forward to seeing him every single day after work. It is the time of the day when I can be completely myself, be loved, cared for, and heard. It is also for me to hear about his day, give him back rubs, and provide gentleness and support.

I love my husband, and I enjoy his companionship very much.

lingcat: Many simple everyday things can be sweet when we reflect with a thankful heart :)

poiemakoinonia: Hur hur! We're blessed.

hemma: Some might say we're a boring ole couple. Heh. But we like being like that! hee

josiah n faith: I guess it does become harder when the kids come. More effort is needed to carve out twosome time. But it can be done!

cote-p: Yes more effort is needed now with your baby. But it is also a new stage in life, with its own sweetness :)

tiff: You'll experience it one day I'm sure :)

lms: It is part of my intention to slow down to smell the roses. I've been too high strung for a while!

It's so sweet that you 2 are able do it frequently and spend time talking to each other everyday.

We are so tied up after work with our boy that we must deliberately allocate 15 mins everyday to update about each other, or about anything.. we call it the "15 min" time.

daddy and mummy: That's really cool - that you both have acknowledged the importance of twosome time and actually set aside time each day for that! It is not easy, being working parents in a fast-paced society like ours. It is probably easier for us now coz we don't yet have kids - we've to remember to keep this up even when we become parents.

ame: =) Am thankful. God's blessing.
