To Hong Kong we will go!
We're going to Hong Kong next week! It is a super last minute trip because of some changes in friends' schedules, but we are indeed going. I've made changes to my work plans to clear 2 days off for this short trip.
And this may come as a surprise, but I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO HONG KONG! I have gallivanted to many parts of the world, but have never seen this city.
As the ad for Hong Kong tourism goes, it will likely be a shopping and eating trip.
I have about a week to plan our itinerary. Please do send me your recommendations about what we should be doing/seeing!
(I hope there will be no typhoon problems by then)

tiffany: Yep am excited! :) Any tips for me?

yay! holiday time!
want to see the pink dolphins? we organised a boat trip out to see them the last time but there was a typhoon. bah :(
I dunno where's Circle K, but you can find 'em quite easily...from road-side stalls, etc. Just look for one that's hygenic. ;)
YUM!
alasmydear: It is typhoon season now too! And it got really bad today as well. Flights have been cancelled. I really pray that things will be fine next week. I've seen Pink Dolphins at Sentosa!
jacinta: Thank you! I'll definitely keep a lookout :)
tiff: Oh okay! Looks like I'm not the only one ;)
I liked Ocean Park, if ur into touristy stuff.
the rust: Probably not this trip because the friends we are going with are not keen on theme parks! I've also been to a number elsewhere, so it looks like this will be a mainly eating and shopping trip, although I hope to see the Peak (of course) and a few art galleries and museums.
thought you'd left already! some of the touristy standards: roast goose and century eggs at yung kee, high tea at the peninsula, dim sum at various places (maxim's is quite popular), lan kwai fong for the night scene, pedder buiding for some designer pieces at "warehouse" prices (though i've found the place less and less interesting over the recent years). i assume you're going to the peak, and taking the star ferry between TST and central, and catching the light show of the CBD. if you're interested, camera gear is also cheaper in HK so you might want to check that out. have fun!
