Long Bar

I forgot how it can be fun hanging out once in a while at Raffles Hotel's Long Bar.

Sipping on the sweet Singapore Sling, listening to a fun loving band, nibbling on groundnuts, and doing the traditional throw of groundnut shells on the ground, is a curious mix that makes spending time there an enjoyable affair.

Raffles is one place I have always wanted to visit. Somehow would I expect to see the spirit or W. Somerset Maugham sitting in a corner, having a drink and quietly observing everyone.

Looks elegant. That drink brings back a memory. When I was young (and underage, please don't tell) I went into a bar for the first time, a nice bar. And my friends suggested I try a Singapore Sling. It was tasty. As is the memory.

You're always doin' something fun!

i still remember how wrong it felt to purposefully throw the groundnuts on the floor.

haha, i am a product of successful govt anti-littering campaign.

jo: Drop me a mail when you're in town - I'll be glad to take you around!

country girl: The Singapore Sling was the first drink you had in a bar! That's interesting. I actually find the drink a tad too sweet but I like to have it at the Raffles. It just seems right! hehe

jacinta: Yes! Another stop for you and B!

moo: Me too me too! It was like should I throw it straight down? Nonchalantly? Brush a whole lot off the table? Or throw each shell individually etc...So many questions before the actions haha. I don't think littering can ever become natural to me!
