I was asked to take someone's place at an annual society dinner where my organisation regularly gets invited to. It was a last minute request, so I had to rush home to freshen up and change my outfit. (I was in black patterned tights and a flouncy top that day!)
I've attended this dinner before. So I knew that unless I really wanted to stand out, I should stick to basic black.
I was right. It was basically a sea of black. Not surprisingly, someone from senior management actually expressed that he thought black should be the colour to wear for any formal event.
Anyway I don't have a problem with that. I have several black dresses to help me blend in with the crowd. I just added some shine with a few extra diamonds :)

like imp, i'll prob fail too - i almost naturally gravitate towards anything but lack. haha. except now when i'm pregnant - black doesn't seem like such a bad idea! have only one formal-ish black dress that i wear to every function! ugh.
Actually, I dont think I have a formal black dress too! :P

i just chucked out a lot of formal and office wear from the cupboard. not like i'd be wearing them to run after lil J!
imp: Yes I was surprised! I couldn't take all the black so I had to wear a huge glittery brooch for some shine!
